Scouting in Cobb county can be traced back as early as 1912. The original Troops 2 and 3 combined in 1947, under scoutmaster Harry W. Livingston, Jr, and began anew as Troop 277. The troop has been going strong, and chartered every year since then! Daniel Martin Worley, of Kennesaw, has put in many hours of research, including combing through archives of local newspapers and has written a very detailed history of the origins of scouting in Cobb county. His story is a true gift to the scouting program! |
